Cheryl Jordan, MD, FAAFP
Dr. Cheryl Jordan, originally from Texas with stops in Missouri and Florida, completed her high school education in Jupiter, Florida. She pursued an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami, followed by medical studies at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
Demonstrating her dedication and excellence early on, Dr. Jordan excelled during her Family Medicine Residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where she was named chief resident and later honored as the Georgia Family Medicine Resident of the Year.
Dr. Jordan's commitment to healthcare extended into her service with the US Army at Fort Hood, Texas (renamed Fort Cavazos in October 2023), where she significantly contributed as a Family Medicine Residency Faculty. Her tenure in the military was distinguished by her publication of a comprehensive monograph on sleep disorders, teaching medical economics to resident physicians training in a fixed economical healthcare system, and her leadership roles including Officer in Charge at the Darnall Army Community Hospital Family Medicine Clinic, and her educational contributions as a Medical Student Director. Her experiences in the Army not only honed her medical skills but also emphasized the importance of direct patient care, leading her to rise to the rank of Major and serve as an Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Motivated by a desire to fuse modern medical practices with the personalized touch of past physician-patient relationships, Dr. Jordan founded Private Physicians, PLC in 2006, marking the beginning of Martin County's first concierge medical practice. This innovative approach allowed her to closely attend to her family's needs while actively contributing to the Stuart community through volunteer work in schools, non-profit organizations, and church functions. Dr. Jordan continues to be an influential figure in the medical community, having held several key positions at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health(CCMH), including Chairperson for the Department of Family Medicine and Chair of the Department of Continuing Education. Currently, she leads the combined Family and Internal Medicine departments at CCMH, where she plays a pivotal role in the Medical Executive Board meetings, continuing her legacy of excellence and community service.
Alan Turner, DO
Dr. Alan Turner, a distinguished internal medicine physician with over a decade of medical experience, hails from Pensacola, Florida. He boasts dual Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Preprofessional Biology from the University of West Florida and furthered his medical education at Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine, where he was honored with a clinical skills award. Dr. Turner completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida.
In 2014, he relocated to Stuart and joined Martin Memorial Hospital (now Cleveland Clinic Martin Health), where he made significant contributions as associate medical director and physician advisor, showcasing his expertise and leadership. He played a pivotal role in infection control, helping the hospital maintain its status as a leader in quality care. In 2020, Dr. Turner transitioned to private practice and has since been serving as a general internist and medical consultant for Encompass Acute Rehab, holding a leadership role on the medical executive committee.
Dr. Turner's proficiency in managing complex medical cases, along with his passion for healthy living, exercise, surfing, and travel, makes him a versatile and dedicated physician. He is committed to leveraging his vast medical knowledge to enhance patient health and promote healthy lifestyles.
Gracie Turner, DO, MPH
Dr. Gracie Turner's journey into the world of medicine began in the serene town of York, Maine, leading her to the University of New Hampshire, where she immersed herself in the study of Microbiology, earning a Bachelor's degree. Her ambition and thirst for knowledge propelled her southward to Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in South Florida. There, Dr. Turner not only pursued but excelled in a rigorous dual-degree program, obtaining a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH). This unique combination of qualifications laid a solid foundation for her holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing not just the treatment of illness but the promotion of overall health.
Dr. Turner continued to hone her skills at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL, where she completed her residency in internal medicine. Demonstrating exceptional dedication and leadership, she was appointed chief medical resident in her final year. Her commitment to patient care and medical education was recognized with the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center Medical Resident of the Year Award, a testament to her passion and selflessness in the medical field. This period marked a significant milestone in Dr. Turner's career, reinforcing her belief in the power of patient-centered care.
