Cheryl Jordan, MD, FAAFP
Dr. Cheryl Jordan, originally from Texas with stops in Missouri and Florida, completed her high school education in Jupiter, Florida. She pursued an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami, followed by medical studies at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
Demonstrating her dedication and excellence early on, Dr. Jordan excelled during her Family Medicine Residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where she was named chief resident and later honored as the Georgia Family Medicine Resident of the Year.
Dr. Jordan's commitment to healthcare extended into her service with the US Army at Fort Hood, Texas (renamed Fort Cavazos in October 2023), where she significantly contributed as a Family Medicine Residency Faculty. Her tenure in the military was distinguished by her publication of a comprehensive monograph on sleep disorders, teaching medical economics to resident physicians training in a fixed economical healthcare system, and her leadership roles including Officer in Charge at the Darnall Army Community Hospital Family Medicine Clinic, and her educational contributions as a Medical Student Director. Her experiences in the Army not only honed her medical skills but also emphasized the importance of direct patient care, leading her to rise to the rank of Major and serve as an Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Motivated by a desire to fuse modern medical practices with the personalized touch of past physician-patient relationships, Dr. Jordan founded Private Physicians, PLC in 2006, marking the beginning of Martin County's first concierge medical practice. This innovative approach allowed her to closely attend to her family's needs while actively contributing to the Stuart community through volunteer work in schools, non-profit organizations, and church functions. Dr. Jordan continues to be an influential figure in the medical community, having held several key positions at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health(CCMH), including Chairperson for the Department of Family Medicine and Chair of the Department of Continuing Education. Currently, she leads the combined Family and Internal Medicine departments at CCMH, where she plays a pivotal role in the Medical Executive Board meetings, continuing her legacy of excellence and community service.
